Field of Work: Informing state policymakers about complex health issues affecting their states.
Synopsis of the Work: The State Forums Partnership Program was a program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that enabled seven states to establish health policy forums programs that provided timely, nonpartisan information and analysis to help state policy-makers make informed decisions about complex health care issues affecting their states.
In Kansas and Texas, two of the participating states, forums on obesity helped put obesity on the policy agenda. This sidebar describes these forums and the changes that resulted from them.
