Diabetes Awareness and Knowledge Among Latinos

Does a Usual Source of Healthcare Matter?

In this national study of Latinos, having a usual source of health care (USHC) means better awareness and knowledge about diabetes. U.S. Mexicans, who make up the vast majority of Latinos in the U.S., are also the most disadvantaged group in terms of access to USHC. A usual source of health care provides Latino patients benefits to make more informed health decisions helping to promote health and reduce health care disparities.
