Synopsis of the Work: After School: Connecting Children at Risk With Responsible Adults to Help Reduce Youth Substance Abuse and Other Health-Compromising Behaviors was a national program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation that helped develop intermediary organizations in Boston, Chicago, and the San Francisco Bay Area in order to create citywide systems of after-school programs.
This sidebar describes the Boston Out-of-School Time Navigator, a searchable online site with hundreds of programs (e.g., swimming and computer classes) for young people in Boston. Developed by the intermediary organization Boston After School & Beyond, the website allows users to search the Boston Out-of-School Time Navigator by age, interests, neighborhood, times and dates, program name, and sponsors.
