Role Development of Community Health Workers

An Examination of Selection and Training Processes in the Intervention Literature

This article examines the literature to assess the role of community health workers in the research process. The authors find that community health worker training and selection is inconsistently reported, making the design and implementation of future community health worker programs more difficult.
