In addition, project director Mary Kay Crepinsek, MS, and two associates conducted informal briefings of majority and minority staff of the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry on February 12, 2009.
Staff from Mathematica Policy Research, Inc., of Princeton, N.J., prepared a special supplement to the Journal of the American Dietetic Association (JADA) to present findings from the third School Nutrition Dietary Assessment Study (SNDA-III) to a target audience of nutrition and school foodservice professionals and others working to establish school-based strategies and policies for obesity prevention.
Grant staff disseminated the SNDA-III findings using three communications vehicles:
- A special issue of the Journal of the American Dietetic Association.
- A briefing of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Childhood Obesity Team and communications staff on the key messages of the papers in the journal issue.
- A policy brief, "Improving Child Nutrition Policy: Insights From the National USDA Study of School Food Environments".
