In 2006, faculty and colleagues of the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University created a student financial aid fund to honor its longtime dean, Allan Rosenfield, MD. The fund supports students pursuing Masters of Public Health degrees at the school.
Under Rosenfield's 20-year leadership, the Mailman student body more than doubled and now enrolls almost a thousand students each year. "More students than ever need financial assistance," says Marlyn Delva, M.A., Mailman's dean of students. "Expanding student financial aid is one of Dr. Rosenfield's core priorities."
- The Rosenfield fund provided a Masters of Public Health student at the Mailman School of Public Health a tuition grant of $25,000 for the 2006–2007 academic year.
Rosenfeld died in October 2008.
