A Report on a Telephone Survey of State Officials in Thirty-Six States

To help assess the effectiveness of the Covering Kids & Families (CKF) initiative, Mathematica Policy Research, Inc. and its partners The Urban Institute and Health Management Associates began a multi-faceted evaluation in 2002. One component of that evaluation was a telephone survey of state officials in 36 states designed to assess the perceived impact of CKF on the policies and procedures of Medicaid and SCHIP programs in each state. The survey process allowed researchers to gather information about how CKF staff and state officials interact and how CKF projects impacted state programs. This report summarizes the findings of this survey.
