Conference to discuss disparities in the impact and treatment of cardiovascular disease

In 2003, the American Heart Association sponsored a conference designed to bring together experts in medicine and health advocacy to discuss ethnic disparities in cardiovascular disease.

Key Results:

The three-day conference, entitled "Discovering the Full Spectrum of Cardiovascular Disease Disparities—The Ethnic Implications," took place in Atlanta on October 1–4, 2003. The conference was organized around the two themes:
- The science behind racial and ethnic disparities in health.
- Strategies to reduce these disparities.
