Development of a national strategic plan on Hispanic drug abuse research

Researchers at Northeastern University, working through the National Hispanic Science Network on Drug Abuse and a panel of scientific experts, produced the National Strategic Plan on Hispanic Drug Abuse Research in November 2003.

Key Results

The 184-page strategic plan provides an overview, summarizes existing research, and makes recommendations for future research on eight topics:

  • epidemiology
  • neuroscience
  • prevention
  • treatment
  • translating research to practice
  • health services
  • HIV/AIDS
  • training and mentoring.

Funding

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) provided a grant of $49,307 to fund the development of this plan between August 2002 and October 2003.
