Regional Workshops Supported Washington Coming Home Assisted-Living Projects - Lead to Development of Model Project
Coming Home: Affordable Assisted Living
Starting in 2001, staff at Washington's Coming Home project provided free workshops in six regions of the state for agencies that finance assisted living, developers and housing sponsors.
The workshops provided technical assistance and networking and led directly or indirectly to several projects.
The project was part of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) national program Coming Home: Affordable Assisted Living.
Key Results:
- The state developed a model of affordable assisted living: Quail Hollow Assisted Living, a 16-unit facility in Chewelah.
- Eight of the 16 units were designated for people who qualify for the state's Medicaid home and community-based service waiver.
