From 1994 to 2001, New York State improved its system of school-based health centers (SBHCs) by:
Health Research, a nongovernmental organization in Albany, acted as the fiscal conduit for the state. A Coordinating Council helped with needs assessment and statewide planning.
The project was part of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Making the Grade: State and Local Partnerships to Establish School-Based Health Centers national program.
