The Smokeless States National Tobacco Policy Initiative was a private sector effort that supported the activities of statewide coalitions working to improve the tobacco policy environment, with the goal of reducing tobacco use.
The initiative was a collaborative effort of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the American Medical Association (AMA) and statewide coalitions receiving the grants.
This initiative, which helped establish a model for state and regional tobacco control advocacy, is now at an end, but many of the products produced by SmokeLess States still have value. We present them here as a means of disseminating the initiative's learnings and informing our ongoing work in tobacco policy change.
