Health Care Policy Conference Gets Extensive Media Coverage

Academy for Health Services Research and Health Policy and "Health Affairs" National Health Policy Conference

In 2001, the Academy for Health Services Research and Health Policy and the journal Health Affairs jointly sponsored the first National Health Care Policy Conference.

The Academy for Health Services Research was a non-profit professional society for individuals and organizations with a commitment to health services research. In 2000, the academy merged with the Alpha Center to form AcademyHealth.

Key Results

  • The conference, entitled "Critical Issues for a New Administration," took place on February 1–2, 2001 in Washington. More than 750 public- and private-sector decision-makers attended the conference, which focused on the nation's health policy agenda for 2001.
