Partners in Caregiving: The Dementia Services Program

From 1993 to 1996, Resources for Seniors (RFS) opened a fourth adult day center in North Raleigh, N.C., and a began a program of aggressive marketing of it.

The project was part of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Partners in Caregiving: The Dementia Services Program national program.

Key Results

  • The North Raleigh center opened in October of 1993.

  • Average daily attendance increased from fewer than 10 per day in 1993, to more than 19 per day in 1996.

  • From a quarterly deficit of $4,800 in late 1993, revenues increased to a net quarterly profit of $3,900 by mid 1996.
