Field of Work: Helping state Medicaid agencies implement health reform
Problem Synopsis: The federal Affordable Care Act will increase health insurance coverage primarily through state-level Medicaid expansions and health insurance exchanges, which will offer provide affordable coverage to individuals. The states face many challenges to creating a system that provides seamless, cost-effective, high-quality care.
Synopsis of the Work: The Center for Health Care Research and Strategies identified and analyzed major state issues relating to Medicaid expansion and state health insurance exchanges. They held two meetings of health policy experts and developed three policy briefs focused on implementing the health care reform.
