Planning a city health dashboard and a workplan for scaling the prototype as a national resource to drive municipal health improvements

The Foundation's initiative, Exploring the Connection Between Community Development and Health, was designed to develop and implement a strategy for community development to help leverage investments, resources, and the influence of others in the philanthropic, public, and private sectors. This grant supports New York University (NYU) School of Medicine, in collaboration with the NYU Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and the National Resource Network, in developing a prototype city health dashboard (the dashboard). If successful, the dashboard will arm municipal leaders and other stakeholders with standardized, city-level data to inform community health improvements. Specifically, this grant will support dashboard development and piloting with data from four diverse initial cities, along with a comprehensive workplan for scaling the dashboard into a national resource.
