Establishing a learning collaborative to elevate the importance of healthy child development and education and to promote health equity
This grant supports an 18-month startup period for a new online learning collaborative focused on creating a system of care for young children that better integrates health care with child- and family-serving services and systems. Together, the BUILD Initiative and the Child and Family Policy Center (CFPC) will synthesize the current knowledge in the field that provides the evidence base for policy and practice transformation in this space; develop a collaborative innovation network to further transform primary pediatric practice by developing family-centered health homes; provide multiple opportunities for key stakeholders to share strategies and provide peer support as they work to build a Culture of Health and promote equitable outcomes; and provide technical assistance tailored to leaders in at least three or four states and communities, selected by the grantees, as those leaders promote health equity. In partnership with BUILD/CFPC, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation will seek opportunities to amplify this growing network of policy makers and practitioners by inviting and encouraging other partner organizations and funders to participate in this learning collaborative. Additional deliverables will include six national webinars, three issue briefs, two in-person meetings, and a Web-based portal to promote sharing, learning, and linkages across child-serving systems.
