Developing a policy brief on key lessons from the Preventing Intimate Partner Violence in Immigrant and Refugee Communities initiative

This grant supports the development of a policy brief that will present key lessons from the Strengthening What Works: Preventing Intimate Partner Violence in Immigrant and Refugee Communities (SWW) initiative. The brief will include a review of the literature on preventing intimate partner violence, a discussion of the lessons learned from the SWW initiative, and policy implications. The discussion of the lessons learned will examine methods to address intimate partner violence and essential aspects of prevention efforts, including cultural congruence as a fundamental variable in all behavior-based interventions. This effort consists of four deliverables: (1) an initial oral briefing on lessons learned from SWW and policy implications; (2) a full draft of the policy brief; (3) a finalized policy brief; and (4) versions of the final brief created in conjunction with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Communications team.
