Continuing support for the Dental Pipeline National Learning Institute to disseminate lessons and expertise of the RWJF and California programs

This project will continue to test the Dental Pipeline National Learning Institute (DPNLI) curriculum and to develop the mechanism to make DPNLI known to dental schools and potential community partners across the country. Key deliverables will include revised curriculum materials and a faculty familiar with these materials who can present them in subsequent institutes; a revised curriculum-delivery methodology that has been tested and revised through 2 cohorts of 10 partnership projects of dental schools and community organizations; and a compilation of accomplishments from the two cohorts. In addition, the project will develop an ongoing method of continuous learning and dissemination of best practices to improve the oral health of underserved populations; a set of policy goals and initiatives that can support and encourage future policy change that will result in improved access to quality dental care; and a learning institute that once fully developed will be self-sustaining through charging tuition to enrollees.
