Sustaining the work of the Healthy Eating Active Living Convergence Partnership, 2012-2014
The Foundation's program, Convergence Partnership for Healthy Eating and Active Living, was designed to unite funding partners in a collaborative effort to accelerate and support policy and environmental changes that focus on improving the health of people and places. This funding will serve as the contribution by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) to the work of the Convergence Partnership (CP), which strives to create environments that support healthy people in healthy places. This vision will be realized when all neighborhoods, schools, preschools and workplaces offer fresh, local and healthy foods, and safe places to play and be active, and when organizations and individuals in government and the private sector, not just philanthropy, support these efforts. Deliverables will include: continuing support for multifield, equity-based environmental and policy approaches; increasing opportunities for partnerships across national and regional networks of funders; and elevating CP's agenda to influence federal policies to achieve its goals. CP will review its governance structure during the course of this effort.
