Supporting the State Health Exchange Leadership Network in advancing policy goals of expanded coverage and improved affordability and quality

This grant supports the National Academy for State Health Policy (NASHP) in establishing a permanent and sustainable model for the State Health Exchange Leadership Network and overseeing the Network. NASHP's goal is to strengthen participation of all states representing all exchange models, enhance peer-to-peer learning, and facilitate connections between the exchanges and federal officials. As deliverables, NASHP will: (1) strengthen participation of all 50 states and the District of Columbia in the Network; (2) design and oversee activities to enable the Network to improve the quality and effectiveness of exchanges; (3) transition the Network by 2015 to a funding model sustained by state dues; (4) establish and staff a Network steering committee; (5) provide technical assistance to the Network; and (6) serve as a liaison to federal officials, policy experts, researchers, and other resources.
