Supporting a forum of female leaders in health care to create a sustainable health care system through collective impact

This funding supports a three-day multistakeholder forum to bring female health care leaders together on collective goals for an improved, sustainable health care system. The meeting, to be held in summer 2013, will include 15 to 20 influential women from health plans, large employers, provider groups and systems, consumer advocacy organizations, and government agencies. Over the three days, participants will discuss personal interests and identify group focus areas (to be determined, but possibly improving health care value, ensuring transparency on cost and quality data, and engaging consumers), develop and make personal commitments to making progress in those focus areas, and outline opportunities to leverage their personal commitments to build toward collective change. After, Sunergos, the firm that designed the forum, will interview participants to assess challenges to meeting their personal commitments and collective goals, and the progress they have made. Deliverables will include: (1) designing the forum and interviewing and selecting participants; (2) holding the forum; (3) developing 30-, 90-, and 180-day individual and collective goals; (4) producing a summative document that describes the meeting, the collective goals, and the process through which the focus areas and goals were established, and distributing that document widely throughout the participants' professional networks; (5) establishing a virtual network for participants to continue their discussions after the meeting; and (6) producing reports on participants' initial progress toward meeting their goals.
