New Connections: Increasing Diversity of RWJF Programming strives to identify new investigators and consultants from historically underrepresented communities and connect them to the Foundation in order to increase the diversity of perspectives informing the Foundation's program planning and design. New Connections funds junior investigators to perform data analyses that address Foundation research priorities and mid-career consultants to conduct projects that focus on research and/or evaluation. New Connections has also established a network of over 1,200 diverse scholars and researchers who continue to benefit from the program's career development, networking, and mentoring efforts. This Technical Assistance and Direction grant supports ongoing program activities including: (1) grantmaking and grants management (e.g., Round 8 Call for Proposals); (2) technical assistance to include the Annual Symposium and Research and Coaching Clinic; (3) program dissemination to include outreach to various national professional associations and field-building activities; and (4) services to the expanded network of more than 1,200 diverse scholars which will include training opportunities such as webinars, regional meetings and mentoring.
