Technical assistance and direction for the Start Strong: Building Healthy Teen Relationships program
The Foundation's initiative, Start Strong: Building Healthy Teen Relationships, was designed to fund a national effort to develop and implement effective strategies to prevent relationship violence among youth. The Start Strong initiative is beginning its final year of community grantee funding. Therefore, as the national program office, Futures Without Violence, will shift its efforts to emphasize sustainability, transition planning and dissemination while maintaining program improvement and monitoring activities. Key efforts over the next year include: supporting ongoing program improvement and innovation at the local level; disseminating findings to the broader field of organizations and leaders in IPV; providing active monitoring of program implementation; convening grantees to promote learning, inspire innovation and develop leaders; and conducting briefings and cultivating partnerships with national leaders in public health, health care, policy, and community programs for adolescents. The NPO will focus on the long-term sustainability needs of the local grantees while facilitating the collaboration of national partners, Ruder Finn, RTI , RWJF, and Blue Shield of California Foundation, to advance the messages and lessons from Start Strong.
