This project will increase the capacity of tribal health departments (THDs) to prepare for accreditation and of tribally led organizations to support these readiness activities. R3d Star Innovations will collaborate with the Institute for Wisconsin's Health Inc. (IWHI), the Tribal Epidemiology Center of the Inter Tribal Council of Arizona (ITCA) and the California Rural Indian Health Board's California Tribal Epidemiology Center (CTEC) to: (1) develop and implement a train-the-trainer workshop series for tribal accreditation; (2) conduct quality improvement training and at least two additional accreditation-readiness workshops, including one at the 2013 National Tribal Public Health Summit; (3) hold webinars for peer-to-peer sharing of accreditation approaches; (4) develop and disseminate a tribal-accreditation road map and other tools created as part of the webinars and trainings; (5) host three accreditation roundtables with state and tribal health departments; (6) develop a community-health-assessment framework based on THDs' experiences; and (7) provide technical assistance to the National Indian Health Board's advisory board on accreditation and to tribally led organizations and THDs participating in the project.
