Educating national opinion leaders and advisers to make informed decisions on health and health care policy, 2012-2013
This project will support the Alliance for Health Reform's continuing effort to educate national policymakers and journalists in a nonpartisan way about health and health care issues. Deliverables will include: (1) four briefings for congressional staff members, personnel of executive branch agencies, officials of national health and business organizations, and the media; (2) two issue briefs on Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded briefings; (3) two briefings in Washington for a media-only audience, six briefings for reporters in other cities, and two web briefings for journalists; (4) twelve one-on-one briefings for the national news media; and (5) six to eight toolkits that provide key facts and background on specific policy issues and the newly revised Covering Health Issues, a sourcebook for journalists. The Alliance will not use Foundation funds for lobbying activities.
