Supporting ongoing activities of the Center for Effective Philanthropy, 2012-2014

This continued funding for the Center for Effective Philanthropy (CEP) supports ongoing research, development of data-driven, performance-assessment tools and communications to promote more effective foundation grantmaking. CEP datasets and resources spur foundations to clarify goals, develop stronger strategies and measure progress using relevant performance indicators. According to a recent market impact assessment, more than 90 percent of funders report making some change in at least one area of their functions as a result of CEP's work, and nearly 40 percent report making significant change. With this additional funding, CEP will: (1) strengthen and drive adoption of its assessment tools; (2) continue research on funder effectiveness and issue related reports; and (3) intensify communications and marketing efforts to promote findings and tools, helping funders to move from data to action to boost their effectiveness.
