Identifying investments to support RWJF's Forward Promise initiative: Frontline Solutions
This program contract supports the work of identifying target markets for investments, forging partnerships, and conducting demonstration programming to improve health, education and employment outcomes for males of color. This work will support the emerging Robert Wood Johnson Foundation strategy of Forward Promise, which will promote opportunities for health and success for young men of color of middle and high school age. Forward Promise has four evolving components: a policy strategy, a communications strategy, a demonstration strategy and a field-building/convening strategy. Frontline Solutions will provide the following deliverables to support the demonstration strategy: (1) Developing a community readiness framework; (2) conducting site visits to inform local market reconnaissance and scans; and (3) developing a five- to seven-page report on market scans. Frontline will support the Foundation in developing a two-day, invitation-only convening of funders, advocates, researchers, policymakers and practitioners engaged in males-of-color work, with the purpose of bridging the gap between policy advocacy and practice. Frontline will handle all meeting logistics, and, at the end of the meeting, provide a summary report and white paper capturing convening themes, questions and next steps.
