The purpose of this project is to identify, assess and disseminate new ideas to stimulate activities in tobacco control and prevention. Although reducing tobacco use has been a great public health success story, rates of smoking prevalence have stalled, suggesting that advocates of tobacco control and prevention should consider new and innovative solutions and approaches. Deliverables will include: (1) research, including a literature review, to identify the best solutions, or "end-game" approaches, for tobacco prevention and control; (2) preliminary analysis of the results of the research; (3) a workshop with thought leaders in this field to debate proposed strategies and their feasibility; and (4) materials to provide information and stimulate discussion about these strategies more broadly and with diverse audiences.
