Providing the RWJF Quality/Equality team with strategic support in tracking and interpreting developments in health care quality and value
Through this project, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) will seek strategic advice to bridge the gap between the Foundation's community-based efforts and the rapidly evolving environment in health care policy. RWJF is also seeking opportunities to leverage the Foundation's expertise and standing in the field to advance national and state efforts to improve health care quality and value. This is one of three projects that RWJF's Quality/Equality team has designed to guide its work in the current, dynamic environment of health care policy. Although the team focuses its work primarily in 17 targeted regions, federal and state policy shapes, and can potentially influence, that work, particularly given the likelihood that efforts to improve health care quality and value will remain prominent, as policy-makers and other health care stakeholders continue to review, implement and revisit provisions of the Affordable Care Act and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act, and to respond to related developments. Under this project, Avalere Health will create a "map" of leading public and private initiatives in the areas of quality and value; recommend ways for RWJF to respond to developments in the field; identify and follow up on opportunities for engagement with key stakeholders; research and present recommendations on enhancing states' approaches to quality and value; and track federal grant opportunities for grantees under the Foundation's Aligning Forces for Quality grant initiative.
