Supporting a panel of conservative health policy experts to study implementation of health reform toward improving the law and regulation
This project will assemble a panel of conservative experts on health care policy at the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research (AEI) to discuss their criticisms of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and its implementation. Over eight months, the project will support two half-day panel discussions at AEI that will address one or two major topics of health reform policy. The discussions will focus on: (1) developing concrete statements about specific health reform problems or problems with the ACA from the perspective of the assembled conservative experts; and (2) identifying potential solutions. The project will select topics by identifying major policy differences between ACA and competing Republican proposals. The panel will comprise approximately 19 or 20 conservative experts in health care policy. The project may also include additional participants with specific knowledge of a particular meeting topic. The project will not produce any reports or materials for public release. The project leads will report the panel's findings and recommendations to Foundation staff from time to time during the eight-month period.
