Technical assistance and direction for RWJF's Finding Answers program
The Foundation's initiative, Finding Answers: Disparities Research for Change, was designed to use research and evaluation to test hypothetical solutions for reducing racial and ethnic disparities in health care settings and actual disparity reduction outcomes in ongoing programs. In 2005, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation created the Finding Answers program to move the disparities field beyond documentation of differences in care across race and ethnicity to the discovery of solutions to eliminate these disparities. The program was reauthorized in April 2009. During this cycle of funding, the three main components of work will be: (1) identifying and packaging model solutions to disparities; (2) learning what kinds of interventions can be disseminated on a larger scale as well as how to implement them on this larger scale; and (3) disseminating and translating these solutions regionally and nationally, most intensively in the Aligning Forces for Quality communities. The National Program Office will continue to provide grantee monitoring and technical assistant in collaboration with the National Opinion Research Center.
