Assessing challenges and opportunities of implementing health reform in rural America

The Foundation's program, State Health Access Reform Evaluation (SHARE), was designed to support research and evaluation of state health reform initiatives and develop an evidence base for future state and federal reform initiatives. This project will inform federal and state policy makers, as well as other stakeholders, about the challenges facing rural America during the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Under this project, the grantee will examine the unique issues in rural health care systems and analyze potential policy solutions to increase the likelihood of success of coverage expansions and new financing mechanisms. The grantee will produce one peer-reviewed journal article, four issue briefs, two Webinars and at least one presentation at a national health policy conference.
