Producing quick-strike analyses of nursing-workforce issues

This project will produce two or three quick-turnaround policy briefs or other deliverables to support the work of the committee of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Initiative on the Future of Nursing, at the Institute of Medicine. The Urban Institute will conduct short- and medium-term analyses of interest to help public policy-makers meet the challenges of creating better approaches to educating, deploying, and retaining a nursing workforce that meets 21st century needs within a rapidly evolving environment of health delivery and financing. Projects could deal with issues that have arisen at the federal or state levels and seeks to do for nursing, on a small scale, what the very successful "quick strike" papers have done for coverage reform on a larger scale.
