Developing diverse leaders in health and health care policy and advocacy, 2010-2012

The National Urban Fellows (NUF) program develops professionals of all ethnic and racial backgrounds, particularly people of color and women, to be leaders in the public and nonprofit sectors. The program advances a strong commitment to social justice and equity. This grant will place two fellows per year (classes of 2011 and 2012) at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF). It will also support the placement of up to two fellows per year at select health-policy organizations that are RWJF grantees or partners. Matching funds will come from the grantee or partner organizations. This project also supports the development and implementation of a curriculum on health and health care policy for all 40 fellows in each of the two years of NUF's core academic program, as well as the design of health care events, programs and dialogues that engage mentors and alumni in health policy issues.
