Partnering with other major grantmakers to support the launch of Scaling What Works

With support from RWJF and other leading private foundations, Grantmakers for Effective Organizations (GEO) will help effective and innovative nonprofit organizations access capital and support to increase economic opportunity, prepare youth for success in school and work, and promote healthy lifestyles and reduce the risk factors that lead to illness. Working with nonprofit intermediary organizations that are selected to receive financial support from the Corporation for National and Community Service's Social Innovation Fund, GEO will assist those intermediaries to make matching investments and to re-grant funds to innovative nonprofit organizations that are ready to take their programs to scale. Deliverables include: (1) GEO serving as a convener to build public sector/private philanthropy partnerships; (2) a pool of financial resources and a strategy to build and sustain future intermediary organizations; and (3) a peer learning network of intermediaries to capture and share lessons for the field of philanthropy.
