Technical assistance and direction for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Community Health Leaders program
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Community Health Leaders program was designed to provide recognition for the contributions community health leaders make to achieving RWJF's mission and goals and to enhance the capacity of these individuals to have a more permanent and widespread impact on health care problems.This grant provides support for technical assistance and direction for the awards program and its leaders, and for the relocation of the National Program Office. Major functions include: the annual meeting of current/past leaders; conducting the 2010 nomination and selection process; the national presentation and celebration of the 10 new leaders; administering the financial awards for up to 20 leaders; and providing convening and synergy opportunities for 173 leaders, including communications support and targeted technical assistance for the leaders and their work. The National Program Office will relocate to the Harris Foundation, in Houston, Texas. The relocation to the Harris Foundation will provide opportunities for leaders and staff to establish new connections and outreach with universities and community agencies across the United States and increased visibility for the program. Janice Ford Griffin is the National Program Director.
