Bringing a systems approach to identify common factors among RWJF Community Health Leaders working on public health issues in rural areas

This evaluation project will focus on award recipients of the RWJF Community Health Leaders (CHL) program working in the area of rural health. Social network analysis will be used to explore common characteristics between this set of CHL recipients. Additionally, the leadership history of CHL recipients will be examined through case study. Primary and secondary data sources will also be used in the evaluation. Major aims of the evaluation are to determine which CHL recipients work in rural health, what similarities exist among these recipients, and how context and personal characteristics relate to the similarities between the CHL recipients. The main deliverable will be a detailed final report which will feature a literature review, question responses, social network maps, and a collection of case studies.
