Establishing a National Public Health Accrediting Organization (Phase 4)
This is the fourth award to support development of the infrastructure and program components of the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB). The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention established PHAB to launch and administer a national accreditation program for local, state and tribal public health departments. The deliverables will include: (1) development of the final components of the accreditation program; (2) preparation, launch and coordination of a beta test at 29 local, state and tribal public health departments; (3) development of a research agenda and evaluation plan; (4) implementation of communications and marketing activities; (5) approval of a defined business relationship with state-based accreditation programs; (6) initial development of an electronic system of information management; and (7) expansion of PHAB's organizational capacity.
