Evaluating the VA nursing academy to improve understanding of how to enhance academic nursing

The goal of this project is to increase the number of highly skilled nurses trained in the United States by evaluating an innovative training program of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and spreading lessons learned nationally. Short-term deliverables will be a synthesis of evidence supporting innovations in nursing education; a bibliography of nursing-education research in distributable format; and an agenda to address gaps in the research. Long-term deliverables will include distributable descriptions and analyses of innovative nursing-education models, both within and outside the VA.
