Evaluating Quality Improvement Training Programs

Evaluators from the RAND Corporation will evaluate the Perfecting Patient Care (PPC) Regional Health Initiative. They will answer the following research questions: Which components of the PPC training are most important for successful quality improvement? What mechanisms have organizations used most successfully for implementing skills they gained through PPC training? What factors are associated with increased quality improvement proficiency and outcomes, including sustainability? Insights will be provided into the types of skills and training support that are most important for success in QI implementation. Additionally, the effect of PPC university training on organizational processes and outcomes and on clinical outcomes will be identified.
