Preparing for future national emergencies by supporting the CDC Foundation's emergency preparedness and response fund

The purpose of this project is to contribute to the CDC Foundation's Emergency Preparedness and Response Fund (the Fund), to be held in trust for future national public health emergencies. When activated, this fund will provide flexible, immediate resources for Centers for Disease Control and Prevention experts in the field and state and local health agencies working on the frontlines. Deliverables include managing and distributing resources to CDC and state and local health agencies during public health emergencies, and preparing narrative and financial reports on where and how the CDC Foundation used RWJF funds. In September, RWJF awarded $750,000 of this grant to the CDC Foundation for requests from state and local health officials in the wake of Hurricane Gustav and subsequent disasters.
