The Foundation's program, Helping Young Smokers Quit: Identifying Best Practices for Tobacco Cessation, was designed to develop and disseminate effective, developmentally appropriate cessation programs for the substantial numbers of adolescents who smoke and try unsuccessfully to quit.Under this transitional supplement grant, products will be developed to translate and disseminate National Youth Smoking Cessation Survey (NYSCS) findings into practice and policy and help sustain momentum in the field. Deliverables will include a synthesis peer-reviewed manuscript and accompanying summary briefs that include recommendations tailored for a range of practitioners, for policy and program decision makers, and for other researchers; summary briefs for youth to be placed on the Internet; a National Conference on Tobacco or Health panel; and an analytical guide for researchers to accompany the detailed database documentation.
