Evaluating RWJF's Allies Against Asthma program

The Foundation's initiative, Allies Against Asthma: A Program to Combine Clinical and Public Health Approaches to Chronic Illness, was designed to support community-based coalitions aimed at improving efforts to control pediatric asthma. This project will support final analyses and initial dissemination activities related to the Allies Against Asthma (ZAP) evaluation. The activities for this project will add to the overall quality of the ZAP evaluation, which may indirectly add to the visibility of ZAP's efforts and help them obtain future funding. The primary goal of the project is to incorporate national Medicaid data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) and data from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) with existing ZAP data. This partnership will provide opportunities to link the ZAP coalition efforts with asthma health outcomes, which is a linkage never before made in coalition research related to asthma.
