The Foundation's Substance Abuse Policy Research Program was designed to provide support for investigators to conduct policy research on a variety of subjects directed at helping the country reduce the harm caused by substance abuse.This grant provides continued technical assistance and direction for the program. The purpose of the program is to identify and assess policies that can reduce the harm caused by misuse of alcohol, drugs and tobacco; to analyze their feasibility, effectiveness and likely consequences; and to help ensure that the understanding gained through these analyses will be used by decision makers in the public and private sectors.
