Providing funds to allow for quick strike analyses of emerging issues in the health care system

The Foundation's Health Tracking initiative was designed to support efforts to understand better health system changes and how these changes affect people.Over the past 10 years, the Center for Studying Health System Change (HSC) has become one of the leading sources of information about change in the health care system and the national and local market forces driving that change. While these products are viewed as timely, relevant and balanced, policy-makers often need information in real time. This project -- for a series of "quick strike" analyses of emerging issues in the health care system -- will take advantage of HSC's expertise conducting qualitative research to provide rapid turnaround, high-quality analysis of key issues of interest to the health policy community. The project will result in two to three reports that can be posted on both HSC's and RWJF's Web sites and quickly disseminated to policy-makers.
