Connecting and leveraging health leadership through network-building, collaborative learning and technology

The number of health leadership programs has increased in recent years, but there are few established relationships between program staff and funders. In this unsolicited project, the Leadership Learning Community, a national organization that provides services to leadership programs, will develop a health affinity learning circle that will bring together representatives from a diverse group of more than 30 health leadership programs. The principal objectives are to: (1) enhance the learning capacity and relationships among participants; (2) develop and organize resources and tools to improve leadership development efforts; and (3) create a shared vision about the most effective approaches to enhance leadership in health and health care. The project addresses the Foundation's objective to enhance health leadership programs and encourage collaboration across programs both in and outside the Foundation. Project deliverables include the development of a sustainable and effective health leadership affinity circle, a compilation of extensive resources and tools (made publicly available on their Web site), and cross-program collaboration in developing new curricula and evaluation approaches.
