Supportive services for recovering chemically-dependent mothers

The Foundation's program, New Jersey Health Initiatives, was designed to support projects in New Jersey that develop new approaches to resolving the state's health care needs, focusing on the Foundation's goal areas.This grant provides support for Fresh Start for Families, a three-year program that will provide intensive case management and center- and home-based support services for recovering chemically dependent mothers residing in Sussex County. Fresh Start for Families, through the partnership of Project Self-Sufficiency and Sunrise House, will offer holistic services to recovering chemically dependent pregnant and parenting women. This relapse prevention delivered within the context of intensive case management, home services, parenting, peer support, family activities, and an array of economic self-sufficiency services will empower women to remain free of substance abuse and to achieve a healthy economic and personal future for themselves and their children.
