Technical assistance and direction for RWJF's Allies Against Asthma program

The Foundation's program, Allies Against Asthma: A Program to Combine Clinical and Public Health Approaches to Chronic Illness, was designed to support community-based coalitions aimed at improving efforts to control pediatric asthma.The purpose of this project is to test the ability of community-based coalitions to mount a comprehensive intervention to address remediable causes of asthma and to reduce effectively the morbidity and loss of productivity due to pediatric asthma. This grant enables the Allies Against Asthma National Program Office to support seven coalitions for implementation grants, monitor and assess coalition efforts, communicate broadly regarding coalition efforts, and provide ongoing and future technical assistance to coalitions and community-based efforts around the country.
