Technical assistance and direction for the Obesity Prevention in Children program

The Foundation's Obesity Prevention in Children: Synergy with Diabetes Initiative was designed to support efforts of schools and communities to increase access to healthy, lower calorie foods and opportunities for safe, daily physical activity through policy and environmental change in order to prevent obesity among children living in low-income, culturally diverse neighborhoods and communities. This grant will enable the Diabetes National Program Office to provide technical assistance and support to four to six pilot projects (up to $60,000 each) that extend the work of the current Diabetes national program to children at risk for overweight and diabetes and their families.
